International organizations

UNIQA offers customized services to all international organizations exempt from social insurance in Switzerland, primarily health insurance. These contracts sometimes cover employees after retirement age.

When employees are exempt from the Swiss social security system, they need comprehensive health cover, known as first CHF cover.

Each case is unique, which is why UNIQA offers a tailor-made solution. Insureds benefit from cover that is as effective as KVG/LAMal membership plus supplementary insurance.

In general, enrolment is carried out via a secure platform, with no medical questionnaire, waiting period or exclusion of pre-existing conditions (i.e. pathologies pre-dating enrolment).

The Swiss Federal Health Insurance Act (KVG/LAMal) governs compulsory health insurance in Switzerland. Every citizen must be insured against the risks associated with illness and accidents. Citizens are free to choose the insurance company authorized to provide social health insurance.
Another federal law governs private insurance.
